The whakatauki te ara o tukutuku pūngawerewere means ‘the pathway of the spider’.
It is a recognition of something complex and intricate. Supporting people to move beyond the shackles of trauma and adversity can be a tricky pathway, which is much helped by supportive connections with others. Just like a spider's web, building and rebuilding these connections helps us to move towards something new and beautiful – much like the awesome creation of the spider’s web.
